DIGI Spain (DIGI), the telecoms operator of the DIGI Communications Group in Spain, has recorded more than 1,179,600 number portings in the first eight months of the year, representing a 14.7 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2025.
As regards the figures for August, DIGI recorded more than 129,800 number portings, of which more than 111,000 were for mobile lines and more than 18,700 for landlines.
With these figures, the operator has now recorded more than 100,000 monthly line switches for 24 consecutive months (since September 2024).
DIGI has more than 11.9 million active services in Spain, according to the latest results report published by the company at the end of the first half of 2026. Specifically, more than 7.8 million customers had a mobile phone service; more than 2.9 million had a fibre broadband service, making it the third-largest operator by number of fibre customers; more than 905,000 had a landline service; and more than 249,000 had a TV service.
Quality of service, improved services and job creation
DIGI, Spain’s fourth-largest fixed and mobile telecoms operator, remains committed to offering its customers high-quality services at competitive prices, listening to their suggestions to implement improvements to its services, whilst taking into account what they actually need.
In this regard, the company invested 205 million euros in the first half of 2026, 36 per cent more than a year earlier. The investment was mainly directed towards the roll-out of state-of-the-art, ultra-fast fibre-optic networks and its own mobile network, with the aim of using these to offer ever-improving services to its customers.
According to figures for the first half of 2026, DIGI’s fibre network, SMART, already reached more than 14.84 million households. This network has once again been recognised as ‘Spain’s fastest fibre network’ in the first half of 2026 by Ookla®’s prestigious Speedtest Awards™, and has now held the title of the fastest nationwide for more than five years.
Furthermore, last week the operator announced that it was doubling the speed of its 1 Gbps SMART Fibre tariff at no extra cost, meaning customers could enjoy 2 Gbps for the same price of 20 euros a month. In doing so, DIGI is reinforcing its commitment to remaining at the forefront of technology, offering its customers high-quality services and the best connectivity experience.
Furthermore, DIGI has just added video on demand (VOD) to its television service at no extra cost to its customers, who can now enjoy more than 2,000 titles across a wide range of categories, including films, series, programmes and documentaries, as well as other forms of entertainment.
The operator, which is already the second-largest in terms of number of employees, carries out all its business activities directly using its own staff, offers job security and promotes career development for all its employees. DIGI currently has more than 11,900 employees in Spain.
